Dr Martin Wood, a neurosurgeon who trained in both Brisbane and Melbourne and obtained his FRACS in 2005, has recently commenced practice at Mater Private Clinic. Dr Wood’s special interests are paediatric neurosurgery, base of skull neurosurgery, surgery for epilepsy, spinal neurosurgery, hydrocephalus and trigeminal neuralgia.

After graduating from the University of Queensland in 1981, Dr Malcolm Davison went on to complete his medical internship and registrar training at Mater Adult Hospital. In 1988 he transferred to The Prince Charles Hospital to complete his advance training in cardiology.

Commencing her Gastroenterology training at Mater, Dr Barrett completed her studies at the Princes Alexandra Hospital, including a year in hepatology and liver transplantation.

Mater Children’s Hospital oncology services have moved to the Royal Children’s Hospital, heralding the beginning of a new single integrated cancer service, the Queensland Children’s Cancer Centre (QCCC).
