New theatre schedule for Mater Mothers' Hospitals

To allow obstetricians to better plan, operating session times have been allocated on the basis of frequency of use.
VMOs who are high users of the operating theatres have been allocated session times for their private elective caesareans, while those who conduct regular/occasional elective surgery will be able to book patients onto the elective booking theatre list. There is also an operating theatre allocated for public elective caesareans each day.
To provide a safe service and to prevent interruptions to the elective lists we have one operating theatre staffed 24 hours a day for emergency caesarean sections. Pearl Manu will continue to take all elective caesarean section bookings.
