The Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU) is a specialist area in Mater Mothers' Hospital (MMH) that deals specifically with problems in early pregnancy. The unit is located on level 7 of the new MMH.

In June, a number of Mater's exceptional people were selected to showcase their innovative practices at the annual Private Hospitals Association of Queensland Innovative Practice in the Private Sector conference with outstanding results.
On Thursday 17 April, staff and patients from Mater's community honoured and farewelled Mater Mothers' Hospitals' Director of Neonatology, Professor David Tudehope, who retired from Mater after more than 30 years of service.
