Mater Adult Gynaecological Oncology Centre receives boost

Mater Gynaecological Oncology Centre at Mater Adult Hospital now has two gynaecologic oncologists with the addition of Dr Lewis Perrin as director of the unit.

Dr Perrin joins Professor Alex Crandon and together they deliver a comprehensive gynaecological oncology service in conjunction with a full time clinical fellow and case manager.

The unit accepts referrals for all histological proven gynaecological malignancies, complex masses suspicious of malignancy, cervical, vulval and endometrial cancers. All of these conditions should be biopsy proven prior to referral.

In the case of postmenopausal women all complex masses should be considered as suspicious for malignancy until proven otherwise. Benign pelvic masses where surgery is anticipated to be complex due to associated medical problems, obesity or multiple previous operations are also suitable for referral.

Referrals to gynaecological oncology can be made directly to the case manager, Tracy Warwick on +61 7 3163 2545 or via Mater switch +61 7 3163 8111, pager 701. Please fax referral letters and test results to +61 7 3163 2406.
