In October 2006 Mater Private Hospital Brisbane commissioned an extensive round of in-depth qualitative surveys with Brisbane VMOs through independent research agency TNS. Feedback from this survey is now available and, in combination with feedback from GPs and staff, has highlighted a number of opportunities for Mater to enhance relationships with the wider medical community.

Mater Children’s Hospital Department of Respiratory/Sleep Medicine—Queensland’s only "level 6" sleep unit for children—recently received their Certificate of Accreditation for Sleep Disorder Services. It is now one of only two accredited units in Australia.
