2006 has been exceptional year for Mater Health Services.
Our centenary celebrations have been full of memorable milestones, from our announcement as a Queensland Great, the start of the construction works of the new Mater Mothers' Hospital and the refurbishment of Mater Adult Hospital, to Premier Peter Beattie's election promise to build the Queensland Children's Hospital on Mater campus soil.
Mater's Board and senior management are extremely supportive of this initiative and look forward to working closely with the Queensland Government, clinicians, families and the community to develop one of Australia's leading children's health care services.
During this exciting time of change, I would like to emphasise to our patients and their families that during the next five years, Mater Children's Hospital will continue to grow its clinical services, including providing paediatric cardiac services from 2008.
With thanks for your constant support during 2006 and wishing you and your families a happy, holy and relaxing Christmas and a successful 2007.
