Mater Doctors' Alumni Dinner met with great success

Since the outstanding success of Mater Doctors’ Dinner during last year’s Centenary celebrations, Mater has been working to establish a Mater Doctors’ Alumni. Devised as an opportunity to develop collegiality, Mater Doctors’ Alumni celebrates and enhances Mater Doctors’ special place in the broader medical community.

On Friday 26 October, Mater Doctors’ Alumni Dinner saw some 100 Mater doctors and their guests enjoying fine food and entertainment at the historic Tivoli theatre in Fortitude Valley.

Guests were treated to an impressive fire show and roving stilt walkers as well as being presented with a Mater Doctors’ Alumni pin to commemorate the event.

Sister Angela Mary Doyle, Professor David Tudehope and Dr John O’Donnell all provided outstanding insight about Mater’s unique heritage, its special place in the medical landscape and its exceptional future. Mater Private Hospital Brisbane Alumnus and Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr John Morris was also honoured for his retirement.
