Hancock Street car park update

Earthmoving for the Hancock Street car park is underway, the first physical evidence of the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

The new car park is being built at St Laurence’s College to replace the existing Raymond Terrace car park. When complete, it will provide 1500 parking spaces for staff, patients and visitors of Mater Health Services, Queensland Children’s Hospital and St Laurence’s College.

The Hancock Street car park project is being managed and progressed by Mater Health Services and on completion will include a roof-top playing field for St Laurence’s college.

The project has been divided into three main stages including the construction of 850 car parking spaces by October 2009, an additional 711 spaces and playing field by April 2010, along with a staff only (Mater Health Services and St Laurence’s College) entry and exit onto Stephens Road by July 2010.

Bulk excavation works are expected to be complete in late December 2008. For project information, including construction notices and updates, contact the project team on 1800 285 839.
