Mater Private Hospital Brisbane—making good better and better best

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane (MPHB) has won the state and national divisions of the Look Good…Feel Better Program/Hospital of the Year Award 2007. The awards recognise Mater Private’s outstanding commitment to the Look Good…Feel Better program which assists women undergoing treatment for cancer to look their best.

Sally Graham, clinic coordinator of the Mater Private Breast Cancer Centre, was presented with the Queensland award at Mater Medical Centre on Monday 11 August. She also accepted the national award on behalf of MPHB on Friday 5 September at the Look Good…Feel Better Dream Ball, in Sydney.

“It is a privilege to work with Sally, Mater Private staff from all areas and the volunteers of Mater in bringing improved quality of life to our cancer patients,” Carol Fazel, State Program Manager for Look Good…Feel Better said.

The hospital scored highly in all of the award’s criteria, especially in going above and beyond the role’s requirements, putting in extra effort to make workshops a success.

Look Good…Feel Better Australia was launched by the Australian Cosmetics Industry in 1990 and is administered by The Cancer Patients Foundation Ltd. Since that time is has assisted 50 000 cancer patients across the country manage the appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy to restore their self image.
