MAH Lipid Clinic expansion

Mater Adult Hospital Lipid Clinic is expanding to include cardiovascular disease risk reduction.

The aim is to identify patients with a high risk of cardiovascular disease (such as patients with familial hypercholesterolemia) and to help with early detection of cardiovascular and their risk factor modification in collaboration with their GPs.

Patients eligible for the new cardiovascular disease risk reduction service are those who:

have a strong family history or early onset of cardiovascular disease or three or more risk factors and are under 45 years of age
significant dyslipidemias, or disruptions of cholesterol and other lipids in the blood.

Please note that this clinic is not intended as a diabetic or general cardiology clinic. It does accept private referrals for general cardiology and echo in my private practice clinic at Mater.
