Gynaecology services at Mater for non-insured patients

Mater Health Services provides comprehensive gynaecology services for non-insured patients to the community through a committed team of specialised clinical staff.

In addition to providing general gynaecology clinics and colposcopy, Mater’s public gynaecology service is supported by a fertility education service and the subspecialty areas of uro-gynaecology, advanced endoscopic surgery and gynaecological oncology. The service provides 16 gynaecology operating sessions and 12 gynaecology outpatient sessions per week.

In January 2008 Mater appointed gynaecology case manager Lyn Rebecchi to coordinate the service. Since this appointment, Mater has significantly reduced waiting times for the service and over recent months has seen 100% of urgent referrals within the recommended time frame. The service currently has a limited operative waiting list and is available for all non-insured gynaecology referrals.
