Dr Martin Wood, a neurosurgeon who trained in both Brisbane and Melbourne and obtained his FRACS in 2005, has recently commenced practice at Mater Private Clinic. Dr Wood’s special interests are paediatric neurosurgery, base of skull neurosurgery, surgery for epilepsy, spinal neurosurgery, hydrocephalus and trigeminal neuralgia.

After graduating from the University of Queensland in 1981, Dr Malcolm Davison went on to complete his medical internship and registrar training at Mater Adult Hospital. In 1988 he transferred to The Prince Charles Hospital to complete his advance training in cardiology.

Dr Glenn Rice-McDonald is a Respiratory and Sleep Medicine specialist who also has qualifications in clinical epidemiology.

Commencing her Gastroenterology training at Mater, Dr Barrett completed her studies at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, including a year in hepatology and liver transplantation.

The Clinical Chemistry and Immunology Departments of Mater Pathology are currently undertaking a major project to replace the high throughput chemistry and immunoassay analysers.
