Biography


Dr Louise Carey is a Director of the Queensland Cardiovascular Group and a Clinical Consultant Cardiologist with special interests in the areas of echocardiography, coronary angiography and clinical cardiology.
Louise, in conjunction with Dr Malcolm Davison, Dr John Rivers and Dr Elisabeth Donnelly, has established a state of the art non-invasive cardiology testing service including transthoracic echocardiography, exercise stress echo, Dobutamine stress echo, transoesophageal echo, intra-operative echo, exercise stress ECG and Holter monitoring at Mater Private Hospital South Brisbane.
 
Dr Louise Carey is a Graduate of the University of Queensland in 1985 with First Class Honours. She holds Fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in cardiology and General medicine and also a Fellowship with the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. She underwent her basic medical training at Princess Alexandra Hospital Brisbane. Advanced cardiology training was at the Prince Charles Hospital with her echo training in Dr Daryl Burstow’s echo laboratory. She then spent two years in the United States at the University of Michigan Medical Centre in Ann Arbour, Michigan pursing further studies in echocardiography. She joined Queensland Cardiovascular Group in 1995.
