Biography

Dr Shinn Yeung is a general surgeon who specialises in general, laparoscopic, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery.

Dr Yeung graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 1991 and was trained in general surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He was awarded fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1999. Following this, Dr Yeung travelled to the North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke, England where further specialist training in hepatobiliary surgery especially in the management of colorectal liver metastases was undertaken. Training in England allowed Dr Yeung to meet with, and learn from leaders in the fields of hepatobiliary, pancreatic and liver transplant surgery from the United Kingdom and Europe. Upon returning to Brisbane in 2002, Dr Yeung undertook further training in liver transplantation, advanced hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery.

Dr Yeung was appointed Consultant Surgeon in general, hepatobiliary and liver transplant surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2004. Dr Yeung was awarded Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons in October 2010.

Dr Shinn Yeung’s special interests include the surgical management of liver cancer, laparoscopic hepatic/pancreatic surgery, cholecystectomy, biliary surgery and laparoscopic hernia repair. Dr Yeung enjoys all aspects of general surgery and looks forward to providing a comprehensive service to the Bayside community, at Mater Private Hospital Redland.
