Biography

A/Prof Yazdani is distinguished by his unique qualifications in reproductive endocrinology, infertility and minimally invasive pelvic surgery. He is a graduate of the University of Queensland (MBBS Hons) and completed his specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG) in Brisbane. Following a fellowship in minimally invasive pelvic surgery in Sydney, he returned to Brisbane in 2002 to develop tertiary referral units in minimally invasive surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Mater Hospitals. In 2006 he completed further subspecialist training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI).

A/Prof Yazdani co-founded the Queensland Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery (QIMIS), a not-for-profit organisation that conducts basic and advanced courses in pelvic surgery. He is a Staff Specialist at Mater Hospital, a visiting medical officer to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospitals and Greenslopes Hospital, a senior lecturer to the University of Queensland and a Director of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (AGES).

Special interests include endometriosis, pelvic pain, minimally invasive and microsurgery, infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, assisted reproduction (including IVF) and reproductive endocrinology.
