Dr Mellor’s special clinical interests are in medical issues in pregnancy such as thrombophilia and autoimmune disease, and paediatric and adolescent gynaecology.
Dr Mellor completed her Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mater before working in Ireland for a year. She returned to Mater to commence registrar training, followed by rotations throughout Queensland, Adelaide and Perth.
Dr Mellor was attracted to a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for the clinical diversity of the field, and the combination of medicine and surgery the specialty affords. She enjoys most the challenge and excitement of the labour ward, and the need to always be prepared to avert a potentially bad outcome.
Commencing with Arrivals Obstetrics Centre in January 2009, Dr Mellor has started her gynaecology practice with Eve Health since her recent return from maternity leave.
