Dr Pool trained at the Free State University in South Africa where he undertook his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery before completing a Masters of Medicine in Anatomical Pathology. On completion of his training, Dr Pool worked in private practice as a partner pathologist for Pathcare and Ampath Laboratories, South Africa.
His special clinical interest is diagnostic pathology including cytopathology, dermatopathology and melanocytic skin pathology, along with a developing interest in renal pathology. Dr Pool looks forward to working with Mater Pathology and referring clinicians to continuously increase the scope of clinical pathology services provided by Mater Pathology.
