Mater will soon be implementing health record scanning that will see paper-based patient documentation scanned and made available for electronic viewing. Access will be via Verdi, Mater’s clinical portal and will enable concurrent and timely access to scanned patient records from multiple locations. Verdi will be deployed to all Mater Private sites ahead of health record scanning. Details on training options for Verdi, including how to retrieve a scanned record will be provided to all Mater VMOs. Ahead of the implementation of health record scanning, Mater VMOs may notice a new 2D barcode located on the right hand side of patient labels. This barcode will enable the scanning software to store the information for efficient retrieval of records within Verdi. Health record scanning will commence at Mater Private Hospital Redland in September, Springfield in October, and Brisbane in early 2016. More information will follow in the coming months. If you have specific questions in relation to health record scanning, please contact Laura Stewart, Change & Adoption, Health Record Scanning project ([email protected]).
