Exceptional Every Time Strategy

The Mater Health Services Board has endorsed and embraced the Exceptional Every Time (EET) Strategy and Mater CEO Dr Shane Kelly has given his strong support for the strategy and commitment to the Board to lead Mater People in its implementation.

The strategy requires significant developments at Mater inclusive of medically led “clinical streams”across all facilities. It recognises the fact that strong medical leadership is a feature of highly successful healthcare organisations. The strategy also ”elevates” the importance of research and education as key drivers for improved healthcare delivery and patient outcomes, and identifies the need to improve Mater’s financial performance to build long-term sustainability and the opportunity to grow with the communities that Mater serves. In relation to Mater’s financial performance, the organisation will soon be engaging some external expertise to assist in identifying areas where there is opportunity to improve both on the revenue and expenditure fronts.

The Mater Executive have reviewed a Program Plan which outlines the various aspects of the first phase of the strategy and will help to prepare us for changes necessitated by the strategy. Once the Program Plan has been finalised and the various documents prepared these will be shared with Mater’s stakeholders.
