Basic ECG Rhythm and 12 Lead Interpretation
Event details:
This course is relevant for those who work in Emergency, Critical Care, General Medical and Cardiac environments within health including General Practitioners, Cardiac Technicians, Registered Nurses, Medical Interns, Registered Midwives and Enrolled Nursing professionals.
This course is conducted over four four-hour sessions, and gives you the opportunity to:

demonstrate knowledge of relevant cardiac anatomy and physiology

demonstrate the ability to systematically interpret a rhythm strip

identify common arrhythmias and the impacts these may have on the patient
-
outline the safe management of the patient with haemodynamic deterioration due to cardiac arrhythmia
-
demonstrate the ability to systematically analyse a 12 lead ECG for the more common abnormalities
-
identify ECG signs of cardiac ischaemia, injury and/or infarct, and bundle branch blocks
-
recognise a normal paediatric 12 lead ECG.
You’ll complete a workbook with the support of our experienced facilitator.
