Improved access to Outpatient Adult Urology Service for uninsured patients

Mater Hospital Brisbane's (MHB) Outpatient Adult Urology Service now has capacity to accept patients from across all areas of South East Queensland and can offer rapid triaging, appointment allocation and consultation for uninsured patients requiring specialist urological care.

Patients will be triaged by the urology clinical team and immediately be directed into the appropriate service model for their condition; this may include medical, nurse practitioner led or telehealth consultation across our urology specific multidisciplinary team.

Mater's urology clinic now also includes a dedicated standalone Stone Service to triage, treat and care for stones patients independently. With stones accounting for a significant number of referrals, this enables further ease of access to patients with general or surgical urology conditions.

Patients can be seen in most cases with minimal waiting times; appointments will be allocated based on clinical priority.

To refer to an uninsured patient to the MHB Outpatient Adult Urology Service, please complete the Mater Outpatient Adult Referral form and fax to 07 3163 8548 ensuring a named referral is indicated and minimum referral requirements have been met.

To discuss a referral for the Stone Service, telephone 0466 538 715 or email [email protected] during routine working hours.
