In a move to improve patient care, Mater Centre for Neuroscience infusion service has been relocated from Mater Cancer Care Centre to Mater Centre for Neurosciences.
The move, effective from 7 August, provides the opportunity for patients who require treatment for neurological conditions to receive their care by neuroscience specialist nurses within the Mater Centre for Neurosciences.
Mater Centre for Neurosciences Nurse Unit Manager Joan Crystal said the move was about putting the patient first.
“The transition of this service to Mater Centre for Neurosciences will ensure patients are treated by specialist nursing staff and in an area with expertise in neurological conditions,” Ms Crystal said.
“This will be of significant benefit to patients ensuring all their care is undertaken in one location.”
Patients will also be able to benefit from the opportunity to order from Mater’s full room service menu whilst receiving their infusion.
Mater Centre for Neurosciences is located on level 8 of the Salmon Building.
