Mater Research Translating Research into Practice Symposium 2016

Mater Research is delighted to confirm Professor Paul Glasziou as keynote speaker for the fourth annual Mater Research Translating Research into Practice Symposium.

Paul Glasziou FRACGP, PhD is Professor of Evidence-Based Medicine at Bond University and a part-time General Practitioner. He was the Director of the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine in Oxford from 2003-2010. He is the author of six books related to evidence based practice, has authored over 160 peer-reviewed journal articles and his h-index is currently 43. He is the recipient of an NHRMC Australia Fellowship which he commenced at Bond University in July, 2010.

With his key interests include identifying and removing the barriers to using high quality research in everyday clinical practice, Prof Glasziou adds immense value to an already powerful program, which follows the internationally recognised T1 - T5 pathway; showcasing the potential clinical application of early breakthroughs, patient trials in the hospital environment, current interventions in real world trials and the impact of translation research at a populational level.

The Translating Research into Practice (TRIP) symposium for 2016 has speakers from Queensland’s leading medical research institutes, hospitals, and universities, along with commercial experts, to highlight and discuss leading local and national health research as it translates to clinical practice and improving patient outcomes.

Held on the 13 October 2016, TRIP 2016 is free for all researchers, clinicians, nurses, students, health practitioners and professionals interested in health research to improving clinical practice and patient outcomes.
