Brisbane South Primary Health Network (PHN) - Refugee Health Connect provides Practices with: 

  • Peer-to-peer education from PHN's clinical leads – General Practitioners and practice nurses who have extensive experience in refugee health.
  • Cultural awareness training for all practice staff (General Practitioners, practice nurses, practice managers and reception staff)
  • Access to in-house practice support and guidance for practice managers and reception staff.

Qld Program of Assistance to Survivors of Torture and Trauma (QPASTT) – Offer a variety of workshops throughout the year, including introduction to the refugee and settlement experience and understanding the impact of trauma. They also offer a PD by Request Program to organisations or groups on a needs basis.

The Queensland Transcultural Centre for Mental Health (QTCMH) offer education programs that focus on practical workforce development strategies that enhance clinical outcomes with an emphasis on the development of respectful curiosity with regard to culture, language, spirituality and other contextual issues that are paramount in effective clinical service.

The Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health (CEH) has released an online tool developed to help healthcare professionals enhance their cross-cultural communication skills.
