Biography

Dr Phillips enjoys managing patients with benign and malignant breast conditions and those at high risk of developing breast cancer. She enjoys long term follow up of patients with a history of breast cancer.

Dr Phillips is very thorough and takes time to explore all management options including non-operative management. She works in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for her patients. Dr Phillips works closely with plastic surgeons to ensure patients are fully informed regarding reconstruction options and have the best cosmetic outcomes.

A graduate of the University of Queensland, Dr Carissa Phillips is locally educated and trained. She undertoodBreast and Endocrine Surgery training at Princes Alexandra Hospital, Mater and Nambour hospitals, and undertook post-fellowship training in Breast and Endocrine Surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in 2009.

She is now balancing a career and a young family, working part-time at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane.

Dr Phillips consults at South Brisbane and at Brookwater.

Dr Phillips is a member of Mater Private Breast Cancer Centre where she consults, and the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Team at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane. She is also a member of BreastSurgANZ, Australasian Society of Breast Disease, Australian Medical Association and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
