Dr Jason Lambley’s exposure to breast surgery early in his postgraduate training, combined with encouragement from enthusiastic mentors, led to his special interest in breast and endocrine surgery.

Completing his undergraduate training at the University of Queensland, he then undertook postgraduate surgical training at various hospitals throughout Queensland, including breast surgery units in Cairns, Townsville and Gold Coast hospitals. This was followed by post-fellowship training in breast and endocrine surgery at Mater during which time he was awarded the Mater Health Services CEO Mission Award for displaying exceptional commitment to education.  He is now a Visiting Senior Specialist and Director of Surgical Services at Mater Health. He has been the surgical representative on the Medical Advisory Committee, Mater Private Hospital Redland since 2006 and is on several hospital committees focused on quality and safety of healthcare delivery. 

Dr Lambley is a member of BreastSurgANZ (incl Qld representative for the Breast Quality Audit subcommittee), the American Society of Breast Surgeons, International Society of Surgery, Breast Surgery International, Breast Cancer Trials and Clinical Oncological Society of Australia. He participates in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings for patients receiving care in public and private sectors. Dr Lambley also supervises medical students, residents, surgical trainees and is a senior instructor on the ASSET (RACS) basic skills course.

Since commencing private practice in 2006, he has consulted from rooms at  Mater Private Hospital RedlandMater Private Breast Cancer Centre.  Uninsured patients are cared for at Mater Hospital Brisbane.  Dr Lambley also holds an appointment at BreastScreen Queensland.

Along with his wife Eileen, Jason also enjoys supporting the sporting endeavours of four school-aged children by either watching, coaching or umpiring their teams.  He is also a keen golfer.
