Biography

Dr Alice Ayres is a Brisbane based psychiatrist with a certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has worked with children, adolescents and adults across a variety of settings, from rural community clinics to city based quaternary teaching hospitals across Queensland. She is qualified to work with individuals with mental health difficulties and/or behavioural disorders.

Dr Ayres is committed to providing recovery orientated care to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties. To achieve this, she works in partnership with young people and their families/supports to assist them in their recovery journey. Dr Ayres uses an iterative biopsychosocial approach when assessing individuals and is able to provide a range of management options - ranging from psychotherapy to medication.

Interest areas

Alice has a particular passion for working with young people who are experiencing mental health symptoms in the context of a chronic medical illness (such as transplant recipients, or individuals living with IBD), including individuals who have been diagnosed with functional neurological disorders.
