Dr Yassmin Musthaffa is a Paedicare paediatrician who provides newborn services at Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane and specialist private General Paediatric and Paediatric Endocrinology services from the Salmon Building on the Mater South Brisbane campus. Dr Musthaffa spent her early childhood in Zambia and later childhood in New Zealand. She completed her medical degree at the University of Auckland in 2008 and undertook her initial paediatric training at Starship and Kidzfirst hospitals. She moved to Brisbane in 2014 and worked at the Mater Children’s Hospital and Queensland Children’s Hospital (formerly Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital) before becoming a specialist General Paediatrician in 2017. Dr Musthaffa has completed additional subspecialty training in Paediatric Endocrinology. She practices clinical endocrinology as a consultant at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and she has been involved in establishing a Paediatric Diabetes Service at Logan Hospital. She also works as a General Paediatrician at Logan Hospital. Dr Musthaffa’s training pathway has enriched her clinical skills and enables her to provide exceptional, culturally competent care for her patients. In addition to her clinical work, Yassmin is involved in pioneering research to develop antigen-specific immunotherapy as a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, as part of her PhD.
