Dr Ray Goh completed his medical studies and graduated with Honours at the University of Queensland School of Medicine. He spent most of his junior doctor years at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he also completed his Basic Surgical Training and underwent Advanced Training in General Surgery. After General Surgery, Dr Goh progressed onto training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, working in all of the major tertiary hospitals in Brisbane.

He then undertook advanced training in Plastic Surgery in Melbourne for two years, working at St Vincent’s Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, focusing on the field of Hand Surgery and Microsurgery. After attaining his fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2007, Dr Goh furthered his studies and experience overseas, where he devoted two years in centres in Asia and North America, developing skills in the field of Facial and Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr Goh’s private practice is at Valley Plastic Surgery, located centrally and conveniently in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. Dr Goh also has a large practice based in the Redland bayside area. He performs surgery at the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and Mater Private Hospital Redland. Procedures performed under local anaesthesia are usually done in the minor procedural suite at the central office.

Dr Goh is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the Australian Society of Aesthetic Surgeons (ASAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS).

Dr Goh believes in being at the forefront of evolution in plastic surgery research and surgical techniques. He regularly participates in national and international plastic surgery meetings, and is involved in the training of local surgeons through mentorship and as a senior lecturer for the University of Queensland School of Medicine. Dr Goh is extensively published in peer-reviewed journals and has authored chapters in textbooks on plastic and cosmetic surgery.

Dr Goh likes to immerse his passion for life, people, and culture by venturing to lesser-travelled places. Together with a team of volunteers, he participates on charity surgery missions in developing nations with Interplast and Operation Smile, where they perform reconstructive surgery on children born with deformities.
