Biography

Associate Professor Stuart Bade is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon. He sees both adults and children for a wide range of conditions requiring plastic and reconstructive surgery in his private rooms on Wickham Terrace, and he has regular operating lists at Mater Children’s Private Brisbane.  He has expertise across the breadth of the specialty including skin cancer surgery, breast surgery, ear surgery (otoplasty, microtia reconstruction), cleft lip and palate, hand surgery (including congenital and paediatric hand surgery), microsurgery, facial nerve reconstruction and the management of vascular anomalies.

After completing his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training in Brisbane and Perth, he undertook two further years of training in paediatric plastic surgery and microsurgery in Melbourne and Toronto, Canada. 

Dr Bade is also currently the Chief of Surgery at the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. He has previously been Director of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital as well as the Queensland Children’s Hospital. 

Dr Bade has a keen interest in education and training.  He has been involved on a number of committees for the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons to develop and deliver education for plastic surgery trainees as well as trainees from other surgical disciplines.  He is an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Queensland university of Technology. ociate Professor Stuart Bade is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon.
