Improvements to Mater patient experience surveys

Mater values consumer experience as a core part of our business.  The same motivation which drives the organisation to deliver exceptional clinical outcomes should also drive Mater’s approach to service.   

As part of Mater’s Exceptional Every Time strategy, Mater will soon transition the existing paper based patient survey system to an online platform to ensure a more efficient and accurate measurement of patient experience. 

The new survey will be available via an email link and will work on most web enabled devices.  It will allow for collection and analysis of more specific data than previously available with options to customise surveys specific to various patient groups.  This will give a more comprehensive overview of the patient experience and provide more detailed feedback to improve care processes and outcomes.

The survey is currently undergoing consumer feedback to optimise the end-user experience and ensure the survey is easy to understand and quick to complete.  Patients will be encouraged to consent to the follow up survey and provide Mater with their email information at the time of admission. 

In addition to the online survey, Mater has other systems in place to ensure patients can provide feedback anytime throughout their journey to ensure all patient experiences are captured. All the responses provided are treated very seriously and reviewed and analysed in an effort to continually improve Mater’s services.
