The Mater Centre for Maternal Fetal Medicine is operating an after hours private obstetric ultrasound service for women for routine morphology and First Trimester NT combined screening. Available from 5 pm-8.30 pm every second Thursday evening, funds raised from this clinic contribute directly to Mater Research.
The clinic was established in 2015 to raise vital funds for research studies, and is led by Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist Professor Sailesh Kumar and two highly experienced sonographers.
The after hours service offers routine morphology scans and first trimester nuchal translucency combined screening only, with the costs for the scans as follows:
All women receive images, as well as a formal report. Reports are also sent to the referring doctors.
Fees for all service provided will need to be settled in full on the day. Normal Medical rebates will apply if eligible.
For referrals to the private evening obstetric ultrasound service please use the dedicated referral form.
This service is not appropriate for high-risk women (for example, those with suspected fetal abnormalities) who will continue to be seen during office hours Monday to Friday.
To discuss urgent cases, a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist is on-call after hours and contactable via Mater Switchboard 07 3163 8111.
