Mater secure email – important information for Mater VMOs

Mater has developed procedures to manage the transmission of information via email in accordance with advice from the Office of the Australian Information Commission. As part of these procedures, Mater now uses secure email which offers enhanced protection for emails that contain personal, sensitive or health information.

 

Receiving secure email

If you receive a secure email from the Mater, it will look different to a normal email and you will need to login to Mater's Secure Email Web Portal to access this email. The notification will contain the link to the portal.

If you have not received a secure email before, you will first receive a notification as a separate email. This will contain a temporary password for the portal as well as a link to the portal itself. Please follow the instructions in this notification to configure access to the portal including setting your own easy to remember password.

Once you have set up initial access to the portal, you can read the email which was sent to you, and you will be able to access subsequent secure emails you receive with ease.
