Associate Professor Simon Denny, Director Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane

Congratulations to Associate Professor Simon Denny who has commenced as the Director Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane (MYAHCB).

A/Prof Denny, a Paediatrician and Adolescent and Young Adult Physician, joins Mater from the Centre for Youth Health in South Auckland and the University of Auckland. He was also the Principal Investigator of Youth ’07—New Zealand’s second national youth health and wellbeing survey.

Widely published internationally in the field of adolescent health and wellbeing, A/Prof Denny is a past Chair of both the Adolescent Health Research Group and Society of Youth Health Professionals Aotearoa New Zealand. He brings a clinical, epidemiological and health service focus to youth health issues, especially ways that enhance the wellbeing of young people in healthcare settings.

A/Prof Denny promises to add enormous value to the important work of our Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane in integrating health, education and research. The Centre specialises in providing adolescents and young adults with high-quality care, as well as uniquely tailored programs that address their emotional, social and developmental needs.

A/Prof Denny is based in the MYAHCB located in the Salmon Building at Mater’s South Brisbane campus. He has a full-time role at Mater inclusive of his clinical, leadership and research activities.
