Mater Children’s Private Brisbane allows Mater to continue its commitment to paediatric healthcare through the newly renovated standalone private paediatric facility in the Salmon Building.

Mater Children’s Private Brisbane is the only private Queensland facility to provide level 5 surgical and level 4 medical paediatric services under the Clinical Services Capability Framework which allows the provision of moderate to high level care for paediatric patients.

The new look paediatric service provides specialised short stay surgical and medical care and is supported by a 20-bed inpatient ward, 16-bed day unit and highly experienced teams of nurses and paediatric doctors. The facility continues a legacy in private paediatric healthcare at Mater that began in 1998 with Mater Children’s Private Hospital.

Located in the newly refurbished Salmon Building Mater Children’s Private Brisbane  is supported by specialities in orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, general surgery, urology, ENT, dentistry, plastic surgery, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, medicine, respiratory and sleep medicine.

Conveniently located next door to the state’s largest paediatric tertiary hospital, Mater Children’s Private Brisbane is fully supported by a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and on-call emergency support team. The patient is still under the care of their private specialist in both hospital facilities.

The majority of rooms are single rooms, and offer an ensuite, carer/parent day bed, television, security safe, a mini fridge and Wi-Fi. Our shared sibling room offers an additional reclining sofa chair and a private ensuite facility directly adjacent to the room.
