Back in 1998 when Mater Children’s Private Hospital first opened its doors, it was Australia’s first private hospital for children. Since that time, Mater has provided exceptional care for thousands of children and their families through a team of exceptional staff and outstanding doctors.

Today, Mater Children’s Private Brisbane continues to provide Queensland families with access to leading doctors, nurses and care providers. Our new look stand-alone private facility provides paediatric healthcare services for children requiring specialist medical care and surgical intervention and is fully supported by

• Inpatient Ward located on level 7
• Surgical Day Unit located on level 5
• Medical Day Unit including Club Foot Cliniclocated on level 7
• Queensland’s only private paediatric sleep unit located on level 4
• Dedicated paediatric theatres located on level 5

Specialised surgical and medical care

Mater Children's Private Brisbane provides a range of specialised services from the one convenient location.  It is the only private Queensland facility licensed to provide level 5 surgical and level 4 medical paediatric services under the Clinical Services Capability Framework and is supported by a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and on call emergency support team from Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.

Designed for children and families

Mater Children's Private Brisbane provides a range of specialised services from the one convenient location.  The former Mater Children’s Hospital building has recently undergone a complete transformation including a name change to Salmon Building, in memory of Mother Alban Salmon.

The majority of the patient care rooms are large single rooms and all include an ensuite and a day bed for a parent or carer to stay overnight. Each room has a telephone, television, security safe and mini-fridge. We also provide sibling (double) rooms, with the ensuite facility adjacent to the room.
