Improved access to Mater outpatient clinics  

Mater Hospital Brisbane's (MHB) Outpatient Clinics have capacity to accept more patients in the colorectal, gastroenterology, gynaecology and ophthalmology outpatient clinics.

Colorectal Outpatient Clinic
Mater’s colorectal clinic is increasing accessibility to outpatient specialist services for:

• Colonoscopy and Gastroscopy
• Colorectal surgery
   

Gastroenterology Outpatient Clinic
Mater’s gastroenterology clinic has capacity to see additional patients and provides services for:

• Colonoscopy, endoscopy, EUS, ERCP
• General gastroenterology
• Hepatology
• Liver disease management
• Treatment of viral hepatitis and fibroscan
• Inflammatory bowel disease
   

Gynaecology  Outpatient Clinic 
Mater’s gynaecology teams can see additional patients including adolescents and younger women with the following conditions:

• Concerns of sexual development
• Menorrhagia, menstrual irregularities, period pain
• Vulval itch, vulval pain, vaginal discharge
• Pelvic pain
• Gynaecological disorders including PCOS or Endometriosis
   

Ophthalmology Outpatient Clinic
Mater’s ophthalmology clinic has capacity to see more patients and is accepting general ophthalmology referrals including:

• Cataracts, corneal issues, glaucoma, retinal issues
• Macular degeneration
• Plastics (for example ptosis and lesions)
• Pterygiuem
