Mater Private Specialist Quick Find

Referring a private patient for dialysis at Mater

About the service

The Mater Kidney Health Service offers facility based private dialysis in partnership with Fresenius Kidney Care at Mater South Brisbane campus and through the Mater Health Centre Brookwater, for private patients, including and appropriately funded international patients and holiday makers.

The clinics are ready accessible with easy parking and offer a spacious and light environment. The clinics' haemodialysis machines have options for haemodiafiltration (HDF) and high flux haemodialysis, and dedicated kidey haemodialysis nurses ensure that expert clinical care is delivered to every patient.

Added benefits for private haemodialysis patients include ease of access to dedicated patient parking at both sites, and acess to free Wi-Fi in addition to their own television screen and entertainment package. Mater also provides patients with a welcome pack at their first treatment.

All private patients receive private consultations both within the dialysis unit, and in private consulting suites. These consultations include a comprehensive review of dialysis presecription, review and maintenance of dialysis access and review of regular blood tests, dialysis adequacy and kidney medications.

Patients will also be able to request a treatment day and time most convenient for them.

The service can also provide access to senior nephrology nurses and allied health specialists including a kidney dietitician, kidney pharmacist, and kidney social worker (additional costs may apply for these services).
