Robotic assisted surgery

Mater is dedicated to transforming the way we deliver orthopaedic care by providing the latest evidence-based health technology for our patients.

Robotic surgery, or robot assisted surgery (RAS), allows surgeons to perform many types of complex procedures with precision, flexibility and control.

Robotic surgery is usually associated with minimally invasive surgery—procedures performed through tiny incisions—however can sometimes be used in certain traditional open surgical procedures.

Through robotic surgery and its computer guided navigation and high precision intraoperative imaging, orthopaedic surgeons have greater control and flexibility of instruments and the ability to undertake advanced surgical planning.
